I woke up a little late today, but to something very cool. I checked my Facebook, and few friends had posted that my "Gameboy...Word" piece has been shown on Kotaku.com. Being a nerd, this brings me great joy. [link] <--- click here, and ad the rest of the address(for some reason it will not take the full link properly. Here in Scranton, PA, they hold an art collective called First Friday. Different businesses and art galleries have art shows the first Friday of every month. I've been given the opportunity to have an art showing of my own.

The part where the "Help" in the title comes from, is that I would like some suggestions for pieces that I should display and try to sell. I plan on having some of my photography(mainly the minimate photos), some hand drawn works, and some of my graphic design works as well.

Pieces that I know I am going to display.

Photography:
Dexter - The Ritual
'Cause This Is Thriller

Hand Drawn:
Electric Heart

Graphic Design:
NES... Word

I was considering having each style have it's own collective theme or style. I was wondering what those who follow me on here think would work. Let me know.

Dude, I haven't updated this journal since April. Still doing artwork for my landlord's facebook game. Started doing more minimate customization, even recieved payment for a Spider-Man custom. Finally bought myself a camera to take photos with.

I'm also going to have two of my pieces displayed at a local tattoo parlor for their "Night of the Undead" art show. My "Cause This is Thriller" and "Dance Til Rigor Mortis Sets In" pieces. This is the first time my work will be displayed at a place other than the school I did graphic design at.

So recently I've been doing character design for my friend's Facebook game. I don't seem to have any trouble drawing up the characters, unless it is something I have never attempted to draw before. I also drew a huge covered wagon on a tri-fold for my girlfriend, with no trouble. Now, when I try to draw a cartoon or something for myself, I can't draw a damn thing. No creativity when it comes to my own stuff. Hopefully, I can get out of this damn rut.

Tonight I will be removing any advertising style work from this account and moving it to a new account. I will still be posting my personal work on this page. I just feel if I have the more professional page that I could leave with places that I go send my resume to. Sorry to anyone who has the pieces that will be deleted in their favorites.

The page will be :iconmwattsart:.

My teachers were approached by a local business owner about designing a logo/mascot for his cheese steak place. They decided it would be a good opportunity for me, although this guy was a weird. It was a chance for $300 for drawing a bull.

So I called this man and asked what he was looking for. He told me just let my imagination go wild, he just wanted a mean looking bull. So I went home that night and drew two bull heads for him. One front view and one 3/4 view.

The day I went to meet with him I called to see where he wanted to meet me. He tells me "Now, don't be too upset if I don't like the bull. I'm a very particular guy with this."

I'm no shrink or mind reader, but usually people who are particular give details about what they want. So, I met with him and he didn't like the bull.
He finally gave me details about what he wanted.

So I redo the bull to his exact specifications, and had to keep calling him for two weeks before I could even get a hold of him. So I email a preview with a watermark to see what he thinks. After another week, he finally answers his phone and decided he didn't like it. He didn't even keep with his original offer to pay me something for the all the work I did.

So, in the future, I'm getting a deposit.

On Friday, August 1st, my girlfriend Heather's mother passed away of bone and lung cancer.

Her family is holding a memorial benefit to help pay for funeral costs and hospital bills. I want to help as much as possible, so I will donate any money made from prints sold on here to her family. I will also be doing commissions to help raise as much money as I can.

If you would like to request any prints or commissions, let me know. Prices are open for discussion for now, until I decide on a set price for pieces.

I just got home from work to read about Michael Turner's passing.

Michael Turner was the creator of characters such as Witchblade and Fathom. In my personal opinion, he was one of the best at drawing female characters of our time. HE is someone I wish I could've met. From what I've read about him, he was such a great person and a joy to be around. Which is stuff I read about before his passing.

If you would like to send condolences to Michael's family you are encouraged to do so. Please send them to:

May he rest in peace.

Decided to end my little self imposed ban. Figured I really wasn't making any impact. Oh well, you never know unless you try. I plan to get some of my packaging designs up pretty soon.

My self imposed ban is starting today. Not sure how long I will be gone for, but it will be at least a week or two. For any info as to why I am doing this, read the last journal entry.

After seeing some of the hypocrisy that can go down with this site, and witnessing, in my opinion, a hollow victory, I need a break. I don't want to get into who won this "victory" as to not cause any trouble. I have decided to impose a temporary self ban. This is going to be somewhere between a week to a month long.

This will also give me the chance to try and develop my style. Due to school and work, my chances to get a good amount of art done have been pretty null. So, maybe I can come back with some much better work for people to enjoy.

I'm pretty sure this isn't going to make any actual impact on anything, but I might have a chance to make some sort of point. I'm also sure I may get some insults or some shit said to me, but I can honestly care less. I'll put up another journal entry when I start the ban.

So.. I signed out I Am Legend on dvd from the library near my house. The previews start and I hear the name Luna Bay and some girl ask where the sun is. Then I see Corey Feldman and realized what I thought was true. I was indeed watching a trailer for the Lost Boys sequel.

I'm sorry, but this is a movie that should not have had a sequel made, at least in my opinion. To me, that would be like making a sequel to The Goonies or Monster Squad.

I'm close to 2500 pageviews. Whoever send me a screen capture of that nice little pageview, or the closest to it, will get a free commission. There are certain restrictions to the piece. That could be discussed if someone sends me the screen cap.

Sorry, but I must exclude the people I have class with. This is for people who don't see me almost every day.

I have honestly proven that I am a compete fool. I am finally doing good at something that will benefit my life and my future. Something was said to me that actually makes me feel like crap about doing good. I am actually feeling bad about succeeding at something I have been working at my whole life. How fucked up is that?

Commissions should be starting soon.
